To protect kitchen and bathroom floor and other wet area from surface damage, polish them regularly with an emulsion polish - being water based, it will not leave water marks.
Use a wax polish on other linoleum floor. If scuff marks do occur rub them until disapper with fine-grade steel wool dipped in white spirit.
