Gently rub the scratch with fine-grade steel wool to smooth it out.
Take care to fellow the line of the scratch so as not to damage a larger area of flooring. Mix together a little brown shoe polish and floor wax.
Apply the mixture to the scratch on a soft cloth. Rub in well until it masks the scratch and blends in with the rest of the floor.
